Thesis Defense – May 12, 2010

Ok, fine, not really an outdoors event – but still an adventure! On a lovely morning in May, 2010, I stood up in front of a roomful of my friends, family, and peers, and presented my graduate work. Boney Mountain Wilderness Loop – May 16, 2010

I defended my thesis! And then I took a few days to breathe, before coming in for a few weeks of cleaning up, but the weekend immediately following my defense, I went out for a nice hike. I went out with Nathan and Joe to the Boney Park Loop, located in the Boney Mountain Wilderness, located in in Pt. Mugu State Park, which abuts the Santa Monica Mountains NRA. San Gabriel River Bike Trail – May 8, 2010

In brief, Joe was like “dude, I have this new bike!” and I was like “let’s go ride bikes!” so we went out for a bit of a ride on the San Gabriel River Trail. Joe was still a bit new to riding bikes at this time, and I hadn’t ridden in a while, so it was all good. Of course, over the next few months Joe went all “hard core cyclist” as he is wont to do when he tries new things, but still 🙂 I think we probably did about 21-22 miles total.
